Made for Small Breeds! Item 18525 is specifically designed for your small breed dog.
"Every dog should have a bed - for warmth, comfort, and the security of having a place of his or her own."
Dogs tend to select couches, chairs, or beds as a place to rest or sleep. They prefer the comfort and warmth these items of furniture offer compared to a hard floor. Dog beds provide the same comfort benefits and they keep pets off furniture - an important consideration for many pet owners who prefer to keep their furniture free from pet hair. A bed introduced at an early age, reinforced with consistent training, will keep your pet off your furniture for his or her entire life.
Where you place your dog's bed is entirely up to you and your dog. Just remember it is his or her resting place so it's best not to place it in a high traffic area of your home. Many pet owners place their pet's bed in their cage or crate once he or she is house trained, while others prefer a location near where they spend much of their time so their companion is always nearby. We offer a wide selection of styles and color choices that enable you to choose a bed and changeable cover that complements your decor.
How to Care for a Drs. Foster & Smith Pet Bed
Many people wonder how they can keep their pet beds clean, yet make sure that they last as long as possible. Here's how to extend the life of a pet bed while making sure it's always clean and fresh smelling.
Beds:
Spot clean whenever possible.
Covers and Liners:
For best results, wash the cover using regular washing detergent.
Wash the inside liner only when needed.
Always use cold or lukewarm water.
Turn cover inside out to protect the no-stain finish.
Always equalize the load in your washer, especially if the cover is large: sopping wet covers can become so heavy that they may unbalance your washer.
Tumble dry on low heat, or line dry (recommended for darker colors).

I love this bed! After going through all the regular donut, square, rectangle, bolster, and sofa type beds on the market and seeing all 8 dogs ignore them after the 3rd day, I finally found the double deep slumber nest. We bought the first one in a small size as a tester for the Beagle mixes. After seeing it FLATTENED by the 115 lb Ridgebacks daily for 4 weeks, I ordered two more in the largest size available. Now I'm back for two more in the medium size - I can take a hint. All 8 dogs would rather snuggle in this nest bed than on the sofa or MY BED. Amazing!! Best dog product we've found in years - thank you Drs. Foster & Smith!
My Doberman loves this bed! The 4 inches of foam in the bottom is great for support. Well worth the price, now I won't have to buy a new bed every year. This bed is built to last.
For years my only dog ,Jock, an 8 year old Cairn Terrier, would only sleep on the sofa or my bed. Finally I decided it was time for him to get his own bed. So I went to Wal-Mart and over a one year time period I must have gone through about 5 or 6 different dog beds, all that Jock refused to sleep on. A friend of mine told me about Drs. Foster and Smith pet beds, so I thought I would give it a try. I bought this Double Deep Slumber Nest Dog bed and had Jock's name put on it. When it first arrived at my house, Jock ignored it and for awhile I thought this was just going to be another dog bed he would refuse to sleep on. When I came home from work that evening I saw that Jock was actually sleeping on his new dog bed. Since that day, he has left my sofa and my bed alone. He LOVES this bed. This bed is so great that I had to buy one for my two cats as well since they were sleeping in Jock's bed. This is a great product and because of this product I am now a forever Drs. Foster and Smith customer.
I got this bed for my dog, Doc, a purebred Giant Schnauzer. For years he wouldn't sleep on the Wal-Mart or Target store bought dog beds, so when I got this I admit, I was skeptical at first. Well Doc loves this bed, and so do I. This bed also looks great with his breed and name on it. With this bed, Doc leaves my sofas and my bed alone.
I call this Deep Slumber Nest Dog Bed - the Cadillac of dog beds. I have two tweenie Dachshunds. They absolutely love these beds and so do I. I ordered the paw prints pattern in 2 different shades and had them personalized. Absolutely fabulous quality, appearance and comfort which has definitely proven by my dogs. They have been sleeping soundly in all positions legs up, legs down, curled up....and I swear they have smiles on their faces. My one Dachshund gave it the destruction test, this bed passed with flying colors, retained it's shape, structure and beauty.. Did I mention the Odorlogic? It's true. This bed has everything a dog bed requires. Thank you Drs. Foster and Smith for this product.
We recently purchased this in an effort to take back our bed. We love our dog dearly, but he had taken to curling up and nesting between my husband and me - and it needed to stop. Feeling guilty about kicking our "baby" out of our bed, I purchased the best bed that I could find on this site. And it must be the best because our dog took to it immediately and has slept in it every night since we got it! We got one large enough for him to stretch out or curl against the sides, and he does both quite comfortably. Side note - my 18 month-old niece seized control on Christmas and almost ended up napping in it! Bottom line: Worth the investment!!
I bought one of these for our 8 year old German Shepherd who had a hip replacement. She had to compete with our other two younger shepherds (90-100lbs) to use them. So I ended up ordering two more. We absolutely love them and they have held up really great to our rough and tumble pack. Besides, they look really nice in the room. I would highly recommend them. We ordered the exlarge for our German Shepherds and it was a great fit.
