Feeding Guidelines:
Ensure your ferret has access to fresh food and water at all times.
Before trying this product our two Ferrets were on a diet purchased at a major pet supply chain. Constant intestinal tract infections, loose stools, constant eating, and the high frequency of defication was making caring for these adorable animals a real chore.
Since going to this Superior choice Diet the results were almost immediate. They eat less but have gained weight!. Less cleaning and fewer accidents and general overall health has dramatically improved. I highly recommend this diet for the health of your ferret.
Having 14 ferrets, plus fosters, I have found this to be the best food all around for them, not only does it come in large sizes, but it is one of the best quality foods you can give to you ferrets. Mine have thrived on it. I highly recommend this food.
Awesome quality ferret food at a great price! After feeding my two ferrets a lesser quality ferret food that had been comprised of mostly corn, I thought I would give this a try. Not only do my ferrets eat less of it(because of better quality, fulfilling ingredients), their stools are more firm and easier to clean up after, so cage cleaning is not such a "chore" anymore. I am very impressed with this food and am planning on purchasing on a regular basis. I'm glad I decided to give this a try. It is the best there is.
It will probably take a while to switch a picky ferret over to a new food, so be patient. Ferrets that have never been exposed to new foods or that have only ever eaten one food can take a couple months to make the switch completely.
Ferrets have a unique digestive system; therefore, their nutritional needs are different from those of other similar-sized animals. Be careful that the treats you offer do not compromise his diet and overall health.
Ferrets are obligate carnivores, which means that they get their nutrients from a diet high in animal protein and fat. Their diet must be a meat diet, and they cannot digest vegetable protein.
