How quickly does FRONTLINE flea and tick protection kill parasites?
A.
Research has shown that FRONTLINE for cats will kill 100% of your cat's fleas within 24 hours and kills 100% of your cat's ticks within 48 hours of application.
Do fleas and ticks have to bite my cat for FRONTLINE to work?
A.
No. FRONTLINE supplies your cat with protection if fleas simply come into contact with your cat's coat within the post-application time periods mentioned above.
I just applied FRONTLINE, but I still see active fleas. Why?
A.
Fipronil, an active ingredient of FRONTLINE, works by blocking stabilizing ions in the neurons of invertebrates like fleas. Without the stabilizing ions, the fleas die from hyperstimulation. This means that the fleas may become slightly more active just before they die. However, you should rest assure that this is a sign that FRONTLINE is working.
I treated my cat with FRONTLINE, but I still see fleas in my home. Why?
A.
The fleas you see may have hatched from flea eggs that were laid before you began using FRONTLINE for cats. Regular application of FRONTLINE flea and tick protection to your cat will break the flea's life cycle.
How does FRONTLINE kill fleas before they can lay eggs on my cat?
A.
An adult flea must be present on your cat for at least 24 to 36 hours before it can lay eggs. Research indicates that FRONTLINE will kill your cat's fleas within 24 hours of application--before the fleas can lay eggs.
FRONTLINE Plus is a convenient once-a-month topical product offering the longest-lasting, most complete protection against adult fleas, flea eggs and larvae, and all four major species of ticks. FRONTLINE Top Spot provides fast-acting, long-lasting flea and tick control for cats. Ask your veterinarian which FRONTLINE product is the best choice for your cat.
Can FRONTLINE be reapplied before the 30-day treatment interval is up?
A.
FRONTLINE products should not need to be applied more than the label recommendations.

If you live in New Orleans, Frontline Plus® for Cats is the best flea stopper in the business. There are so many insects here, this is the most powerful and most effective we've tried...and we have a lot of cats.
I've used Frontline® for a number of years now. I've tried other cheaper types of flea control and they did not work. I have 12 cats and 4 dogs and Frontline® has taken care of my flea problems on all of them.
Frontline works! You get what you pay for. There is virtually no odor with Frontline like you get from other brands. Both my cats have been flea and tick free. I am sticking with Frontline!
Two feral cats adopted us when we moved into our house and over time became tame pets. My husband and I are allergic to cats, so they will always be outdoor kitties. In the past, I had tried inexpensive flea treatments from local pet stores, a waste of good money since they did not solve the flea problem. In a good or bad economy it's best to forget about wasting your money on sub-standard flea treatment products that don't work. I started buying Frontline products because it's a quality product that works well every time. Since we have to watch the budget, but still want to care for our kitties, it's wonderful that Drs. Foster and Smith sells this product at the best price compared to other local or online retailers.
