When it comes to cat furniture, our Super Deluxe is top of the line. And that is exactly what your cat deserves. This Super Deluxe Tree will outlast any store-bought model! The Super Deluxe starts with a huge, thick 18" square wood base, offering two posts wrapped securely with the same sisal rope that sailors use. The second tier suspends a dense plush tunnel that's a perfect hiding place. The third tier is a fully carpeted perch, and the fourth features our wide fleece-lined crow's nest to hop in or on. All parts are secured with super sturdy steel bolts and assembly is a breeze. Fits ceilings 7.5' to 8.5' with the included adjusting post as pictured above. Assembly required. Please specify Espresso, Cocoa, Forest Green, Merlot, Oatmeal, or Soft Sage.

We will probably never know the real reason(s) why cats like high places, but here are some theories:

Height can indirectly be a sign of status. If there are multiple cats in a household, the cat that controls the best perches is generally the most dominant. The highest cat is literally the "top cat".
The height gives the cat a better observation point. From that location, the cat can survey his "realm" and be more aware of activities of people and other pets. In the wild, a higher place may serve as a concealed site from which to hunt.
One of the reasons cats like the top perch on the cat tree is that the tree is located near a heat register, and the top perch is the warmest spot. The tops of refrigerators also tend to be warm.
If a cat is anxious or afraid, a high perch may get him farther away from the cause of his anxiety (e.g., a dog).

Note: A 7/16" wrench is needed for assembly.

Instructions:

Remove the two 3/4" bolts and washer from one of the 18" x 18" platforms and place the platform upside down on the floor. Take the lambswool tunnel and attach it to the platform with the 3/4" bolts and washers. Set Aside.
Place the Crow’s Nest on the floor with the center hole facing up. Take one of the 11" sisal posts and thread the short bolt into a threaded hole in the Crow’s Nest until tight. Repeat for the other 11" post.
Take the other platform and lay it on the 11" sisal posts, carpeted side down. Take one of the 18" carpeted posts and insert the long bolt through the platform and into the 11" post. Thread the 18" post until tight. Repeat for the other side.
Take the other platform/tunnel assembly from step 1 and lay it on the 18" carpeted posts so that the tunnel is facing up. Take one of the 30" posts and insert the long bolt through the platform and into the 18" post. Thread the 30" post until tight. Remove the 4" bolt and washer from the bottom. Repeat for the other side.
Lay the unit on its side. Take the base and align it on the 30" sisal posts. Using the 4" bolts and washers removed from the 30" posts, secure the base to the posts. Check for tightness.
Take the adjusting post and thread the bolt into the threaded hole in the top of the Crow’s Nest until tight.
Stand unit upright. To adjust the Cat Tree to your ceiling height, turn the outer adjusting tube counterclockwise until snug to the ceiling. Attach breakaway mouse according to directions included with mouse.
Check all pieces for tightness and re-tighten after a few days of use.

A.	The cat trees can be placed anywhere in your home that you want. The safety is not compromised as long as the cat tree is properly installed and checked at regular intervals for tightness.

Q.	If my cat tree is wobbly, what can I do?
A.	If your cat tree is wobbly, we recommend that you recheck the tightness of the screws. Make sure that they are as tight as possible. Also check that your cat tree is secure between floor and ceiling, and make periodic adjustments as needed.

Q.	How easy are these cat trees to assemble? What tools are required?
A.	The Drs. Foster & Smith Cat Trees are very easy to assemble and come with complete instructions. The only tool you need is a 7/16" wrench.

Q.	Can the cat trees be used outside?
A.	We do not recommend that you use the Drs. Foster & Smith Cat Trees outdoors. Over time, they will not hold up to prolonged exposure to the elements (especially rain). However, if you have a covered enclosure which will accommodate the cat tree so it is stable and moisture-free, you may place a cat tree there.

A.	Other than color of carpet on some items, the manufacturer does not make special order cat trees.

A.	Yes, Drs. Foster & Smith have replacement sisal and other parts for your cat tree up to 6 months from date of purchase.

The Drs. Foster & Smith Cat Trees are among the sturdiest cat trees on the market, and can hold up to even the most rambunctious of cat(s). They will remain steady with more than one cat on them, as long as the combined weight of the cats is evenly distributed and under the weight limit for the model that you own. You will also want to make sure that the cat tree is tightly secured between the floor and ceiling.
