How to apply:
Step 1
The dog should be standing for easy application. Part the hair at your dog's shoulder blades to expose the skin.
Step 2
Apply product evenly and directly to the skin in three or four spots along the dog's back by squeezing out the tube's contents.(For dogs 20 lbs. or less, apply on one spot.)
Step 3
Be sure to empty the entire tube by the end of the application. Your dog's natural movements will help spread K9 Advantix over the skin.

Important Precautions

Hazards to humans: Advantix causes eye irritation. Harmful if swallowed. Do not get in eyes or on clothing. Avoid contact with skin. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and warm water after handling. Keep out of reach of children.

Hazards to domestic animals: Advantix is for external use only. Do not use on puppies under seven weeks of age. As with any product, consult your veterinarian before using this product on debilitate, aged, pregnant, or nursing animals. Individual sensitivities, while rare, may occur after using ANY pesticide product for pets. If signs persist, or become more severe, consult a veterinarian immediately. If your animal is on medication, consult your veterinarian before using this or any product.

If applied to a cat, or ingested by a cat which actively grooms a recently treated dog, this product may have serious harmful effects. If this occurs contact your veterinarian immediately.

Individual Sensitivities:

Some animals may be sensitive to ingredients in this product. Observe your pet following treatment. Sensitivities may occur after using ANY pesticide product on pets. Please read entire manufacturer's insert prior to using product. As with any product consult your veterinarian before using on medicated, debilitated, aged, pregnant or nursing animals.

Storage and Disposal

Do not contaminate water, food, or feed by storage or disposal. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Protect from freezing. Pesticide Disposal: securely wrap original container in several layers of newspaper and discard in trash. Container Disposal: Do not reuse empty container. Wrap container and put in trash.

What makes Advantix Special?

Synergistic Effect
The two active ingredients imidacloprid and permethrin are often used alone as effective treatments against parasites. However, the combination Advantix formula works synergistically to provide more protection than each of these ingredients alone. Together, they complement one another to enhance their effectiveness and provide complete protection against fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes.

The active ingredient imidacloprid is an EPA approved topical insecticide that kills adult fleas by disrupting their nervous system. Fleas in their larval stages are also killed when they come in contact with the treated pet or their immediate surroundings. Permethrin is a synthetic pyrethrin compound commonly used to kill flying insects, fleas, and ticks. EPA approved for use in dogs, permethrin affects the nervous system of parasites, causing repetitive nerve firings that eventually paralyze and kill them. Permethrin is longer lasting and more stable than natural pyrethrin. For this reason, it is commonly found in repellents, premise sprays, and in products intended for slower, but sustained action. K9 Advantix takes advantage of these properties to offer superior protection against fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes.

Protection Against Fleas
K9 Advantix stops fleas from biting in less than 5 minutes and kills 98-100% of fleas on your dog within 12 hours of application. Advantix kills fleas before they have a chance to lay eggs and also kills flea larva before they develop into biting fleas - thus breaking the flea life cycle. Re-infesting fleas are killed within 2 hours for reliable treatment against fleas of all stages. In many instances Advantix is so effective, it kills fleas before they have a chance to bite your pet, preventing conditions such as Flea Allergy Dermatitis.

Protection Against Ticks
K9 Advantix repels and kills Deer ticks, American dog ticks, Lone Star ticks, and Brown dog ticks before they can latch onto your pet. It repels up to 98% of ticks to dramatically reduce disease spread by ticks.

Protection Against Mosquitoes
K9 Advantix repels and kills mosquitoes before they can bite and needless to say, mosquitoes that don't bite can't annoy dogs or transmit disease. Research demonstrates K9 Advantix kills up to 98.3% of mosquitoes and reduces their feeding up to 95.2%.

Water-resistant Formula

We live in an area that is heavily infested with mosquitoes in the summer months. I have used K9 Advantix since it came out on the market. We first heard about it from an advertisement during the Westminster Kennel Club Show a few years ago. My dogs have a much more comfortable summer because the mosquitoes are no longer attacking them.

I am using this on five dogs and it works great. It is much easier to control the fleas than other methods and I live in Texas so there is a large population of mosquitoes. I have an allergic dog so I don't want anything to bite him and so far so good. I had always used K9 Advantix on my Flat Coat Retriever. This spring my vet said they had switched over to Frontline and were not offering K9. I bought the Frontline and what problems we have had with fleas! I ended up having to spend extra money for a cortisone shot because my dog is allergic to flea bites. Also had to buy pills to kill the fleas on her and buy a product to treat my yard - all at the vet's direction. Well, she still had fleas and I even found a few bites on my kids! Needless to say she is back on K9 which I ordered online and we are all doing much better. Buying a lower priced product didn't save us any money. Pay a little more for K9 and you will not have to spend more money fighting fleas. You will also save your beloved pet so much misery. I will never use anything other than K9 Advantix.
